Kisamos - Kissamos (Kasteli)

Kissamos or Kasteli, is a coastal town 36 km west of Chania, which consists of approximately 10000 inhabitants. It is administered by municipalities of Kisamos, Mythimna, Innahorion, with capital city the town of Kisamos or Kasteli. The main town is located between two capes, Cape Spatha to the east and Gramvousa to the west. These two headlands form the bay of Kisamos on the center of which the city of Kisamos is located.

Financially Kisamos is based both on agricultural production such as the well-known extra virgin olive oil, wine, honey and tourism of course. The element that makes Kisamos different from other cities is the traditions. Kisamos holds and revives customs and traditions that are dated many years before. In addition, it is well known about the wealth on the traditional music as many genuine Cretan artists are born in it.

Kisamos is a major passageway for travelers and tourists during the summer season to the most beautiful beaches in the prefecture of Chania and maybe the whole island of Crete. The beach Elafonissi, Falassarna and Balos attract thousands of tourists throughout the summer season.
